MORE UNDER FIRE MINIATURES USMC 1/72 AND M119 GUN WIP.

Hello all,

These figures and gun are for a Vietnam group build, on Bennos forum.
Its a place where people all build the same era and bounce any ideas or reference material off each other to help out.
I finished these blokes off after five beers so I am happy they are still on there bases let alone painted!!

Yes, I know even more "Under fire miniatures" figures!!!!!But I have said it once I will say it again there are brilliant.
I used Vallejo medium olive with a heavy black wash. This time it worked out quite well. Not as bright green as last time, but I still had to lighten them up with some dry brushing with the medium olive to keep them the same as the other two blokes I have done.
Then a light dusting of Tamiya weathering powder, the ones that have three colours like make up, all over the figure.
The webbing is Vallejo khaki with again a black wash and a bit of dry brushing. Some people say you can really dry brush figures at this scale but I think its worth a try. Some times it works, some times it doesn't.
The flesh was given a good wash with Vallejo flesh tone that has seen to do the trick.
This is an Airfix 105mm light gun modelled as a M119 US version, with the shortened barrel.
I have knocked up a few of these and when I couldn't find the destruction's all was not lost.
Please excuse the paint job, but I am still learning how to use my new airbrush and spray booth.
A few more coats should sort out the bits I have missed.
I think I will need to invest in a new airbrush for finer details. The brushes came with the compressor if you know what I mean. Two brushes and a compressor with air tank for £75 quid you can't complain.
This is a team photo of the lads I am going to use for the dio of the "fire base under fire".Not sure and the bloke with the fist and bandanna yet but we will see.

Cheers for looking,    Rich.

Brilliant paintjob. Thanks for mentioning the use of weathering powder. I didn´t try it with my figures yet. But I will do!

I like the green. I've been trying to get that right for some time now. I'll try your version next time.
